Yoga Basics

These classes are great for brand new beginners and those continuing students who wish to deepen and refine their practice. This class will be emphasizing postural alignment and basic breathing techniques. Standing, seated and inverted postures will be taught so they are accessible and beneficial to everyone. Yoga Basics is focused on the foundations of a strong yoga practice.

Power Yoga

Like all forms of hatha yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Power Yoga combine an assortment of yoga postures and deep rhythmic breathing. These two styles of yoga build strength, increase endurance, create flexibility and release tension. The Power/Vinyasa Yoga practice exposes and dissolves our various imbalances.

Our yoga classes encourage optimal health by stimulating the whole body. The mind becomes energized as negative issues are exposed and dissolved. This is the real key. The practice of yoga hones and strengthens our minds! When the body is strong and the mind is focused, we live life with a calm confidence.

Yin Vinyasa Yoga

Explore a balance of opposites. This class joins the practice of Yin Yoga, where seated postures are held for several minutes to lengthen and release connective tissues, improving joint flexibility and range of motion. This is combined with a vinyasa practice where the focus is on the more active vinyasa-flow style of yoga, moving from pose to pose connecting with the breath. A great class for beginning through experienced students.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga moves dynamically from asana to asana (pose to pose) with constant attention to breath. Focus is on balance, power, fluidity, flexibility and alignment. Vinyasa frees the body of impurities like stiffness and muscle tension, leaving practitioners feeling clear, clean and energized. Our Vinyasa practice is challenging and appropriate for those with prior experience.

This class requires a good-working knowledge of the basic yoga postures. Please note that Vinyasa is taught in a unique way by each instructor–so Vinyasa with one teacher might not be the same experience as Vinyasa with another teacher. This keeps us awake, curious and open to new and exciting experiences!

Fluid Vinyasa

Fluid Vinyasa is a movement-based Vinyasa which softly weaves asanas (poses) together. This class focuses on rhythmic vinyasas (flowing between asanas as integration). Prana (breath) guides these movements to transform into this smooth flow. Prepare to move your body in a new way while moving to inspiring and energetic music. All levels are welcome to this class!

Slow Flow

A well-balanced, eclectic blend of various styles of yoga, this vinyasa class aims to create a tranquil environment where students are encouraged to move with the rhythm of their own breath and at their own pace. Students of ALL LEVELS of experience are welcome. Variations will be presented for those wishing to go deeper and, for those who are just beginning to feel comfortable in the practice of yoga, plenty of modifications are offered. Skillful assists and the use of props will help students achieve proper alignment and ensure the body is being protected and safe at all times.

Yin Yoga

The quiet practice of Yin Yoga uses long-held passive postures and mindfulness meditation to reveal a natural state of radiant health. It beautifully complements muscular, vigorous Yang yogas by accessing the deep connective tissues that aerobic exercise often overlooks. In Yin Yoga, the muscles have a chance to relax, hidden tension melts away, and we begin to have access to new parts of the body. This results in more supple joints, greater ease of movement, and less limitation in the body.

Arrive early !  Classes are limited to the first 10 students.

Gentle/Restorative

The first portion of the class (Gentle Vinyasa) is comprised of gently flowing postures designed to warm and awaken the body. Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures. Note that ‘rest’ is different than sleep. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Restorative yoga helps to trigger the parasympathetic nervous system al so known as the PNS. The PNS is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate, blood pressure; it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily.

Gentle Stretch Class

Our Gentle Stretch class is appropriate for beginning students, as well as folks recovering from illness or injuries, and for women who are pregnant. The class consists of flowing, non-strenuous yoga movements designed to gently stretch skeletal muscles and deeply relax the nervous system.

Vinyasa Flow/Meditation
