The Pranakriya Yoga style, developed by Yoganand Michael Carroll, has roots in the Kripalu tradition. Pranakriya classes empower students to harness their energy levels generated through a dynamic yoga practice, with emphasis on pranayama and deep exploration of postures. All classes begin with pranayama, followed by a posture sequence that builds up gradually and is led with longer holding times to focus on proper alignment and deep breathing, encouraging meditation in motion.
Gentle Stretch : Appropriate for beginning students, elders, as well as folks recovering from illness or injuries. The class consists of flowing, non-strenuous yoga movements designed to gently stretch skeletal muscles and deeply relax the nervous system.
Meditative Postures : Appropriate for those with some yoga experience. Classes are led with a balance of stretching and strengthening postures and movements and the focus is a deeper experience of the yoga practice. The posture sequence is intermediate level and adaptable to suit the needs of the class.
Yoga Workout : Appropriate for experienced students seeking a challenge both physically and internally. Classes include energetic breathing techniques and a more advanced posture sequence as a twist on the traditional sun salutation flow, in a faster pace than Level 1. Advanced modifications are offered for those seeking a physical workout in their yoga practice.
